Communication is about establishing, changing or repairing water and wastewater systems (WWS) which are connected to or shall be connected to the public water and wastewater network.
“The contractor portal streamlines communication between municipalities and contractors. All communication is digital, and the contractors can easily gain an overview of the status of applications, ongoing projects and final documentation,” says Ståle Johannessen, Product Manager at Powel.
Easy to use out in the field
The Contractor Portal has been developed in close collaboration with the users and has been designed based on user requirements. The solution adapts itself automatically to the unit you are using, whether it is a PC, tablet or smartphone, thereby enabling easy documentation of work, both in the office and out in the field.
“Contractors can spend more time working out in the field and less time on application work and documentation, while municipalities save time on case handling, since documentation is more accurate and dialogue with contractors happens more quickly. This is a win-win situation for both parties,” says Johannessen.
More automated processes
The cloud solution is a part of Powel Private Infrastructureand is closely integrated with the NIS solution Gemini VA. Powel is working continuously to ensure that even more work processes in the solution are automated.
“The solution issues an alert if something has been done wrong or must be quality assured. This means that documentation is more accurate and of higher quality,” says the product manager.
A high volume of documentation work has now moved from municipalities to contractors.
“Municipalities have largely been assigned the role of quality assurers. This has significantly streamlined the work of municipalities,” he says.
For contractors, the solution means:
More time to work out in the field. Less time spent on application work and documentation.
Easy and flexible access to municipal water and wastewater maps, including out in the field.
Simplified application process – reports with zero errors or faults.
Shorter processing time for municipal applications/reports.
Better documentation quality.
For municipalities, the solution means:
Reduced case handling time.
Close integration with specialist systems, archives and maps.
Less accrued time spent on following up errors and faults in applications and reports.
Better documentation quality with less outstanding final documentation.
