The field solution is used to record jobs such as sweeping, inspections, camera checks, leak tests and the like, and has been developed in close cooperation with the fire and chimney sweeping authorities. Powel also offers DM Tilsyn for monitoring special fire objects.
“Direct access to custom checklists makes it easy to run inspection jobs. To plan the jobs, you use fixed sector lists or custom work schedules,” says the product manager for DM Feiing, Arve Berntzen.
Full access to all sweeping data
DM Feiing provides full access to all sweeping data, and one can check history, previous cases and much more, directly from the field. You can also send out reports directly in the field, via email or the SvarUT service.
“All the plants are shown on the map and it provides a good overview for users. DM Feiing also supports sweeping and inspection of holiday homes, which have the same requirements for flues, grates and other fire prevention measures as normal residential buildings,” says Berntzen.
The solution can be used to send a text to the owner of a holiday home/cabin with a link to an electronic questionnaire to collect the necessary information. The information provides the basis for planning the sweeping/inspection of the holiday home. DM Feiing has a number of interfaces to other solutions, such as case management/archiving solutions, the SvarUT aervice, Matrikkelen (the land registry), the FAST register, MS Outlook, billing systems etc.
“All the details of the different objects are held within the solution so they can check the requirements for fire protection (e.g. stoves) right there on the spot. You no longer need to take notes with pen and paper and then go back to the office to check the requirements for fire protection,” says Berntzen.
Gemini Varsling integrated into the solution
Gemini Varsling for sweeping/inspection is a notification system integrated into the technical solution. Alerts can be output directly from a sector list or work schedule. You can also search any selection of objects and send alerts – directly from DM Feiing.
Risk assessment as a basis for regulatory needs
DM Feiing has a separate function for calculating the risk of every object to be swept, based on previously recorded information. The overall status of several different risk point types, such as building type, provides an aggregate risk score which in turn determines the frequency of sweeping and inspection. In this way, the fire service can ensure that resources are deployed where the need is greatest.
Send reports directly via the SvarUT service
DM Feiing and DM Tilsyn now have the ability to send reports and other documents directly to the customer via the municipality's SvarUT service. This allows reports, etc. to be sent directly in the field, without the need to know the recipient’s email address. This saves a lot of time and resources for the fire service.
Working on new solution
Powel is now working on a new generation solution for inspection and sweeping for the fire service. It will give users even better usability and more efficient work processes.
“The aim is to automate as much as possible so tasks automatically appear in lists. Documents will be produced from a template, stored, sent and archived automatically. We are also working to enable two-way digital communication between the fire service and the customer in the solution,” says Berntzen.
