Gemini VA documents all the assets in the water and wastewater network, such as pipes, manholes, valves, combined sewer overflows, pumping stations etc.
“Gemini VA has a market share of 85% in Norway, and the tool is used every day by municipal and other water companies to manage and document the pipe network,” says John Bjørndal, responsible for Gemini VA at Powel.
You need to know more than just where the pipes are located and how old they are in order to plan maintenance and renewal of the water and drainage network. The planning will become much better and precise having good information about pipe materials, dimensions, operational history and other details of the network. The Gemini VA database is also used as the main source of information for hydraulic network modelling.
The web solution Gemini Portal
“Powel has built many of our solutions in Norway around Gemini VA. Our goal is to be the market leader in documentation, management and analysis of the water and stormwater network, and we have achieved this in Norway. In addition, we have NIS solutions for the Danish market,” says Bjørndal.
A major enhancement of Gemini VA is the Gemini Portal web solution. Portal provides real-time access to water and wasterwater network and is primarily designed for people working in the field. The app is web-based and has thousands of users. Gemini Portal has a user-friendly, map-based user interface and has access to data from Gemini VA.
Powel offers cloud operation of both Gemini VA and Gemini Portal for customers who do not want to handle the operation of the solutions by themselves. We currently have around 50 customers with full cloud operation of Gemini VA and Gemini Portal.
