Uniper automates their trading with Powel Algo Trader
The international energy company Uniper has decided to use the Powel Algo Trader solution for the Nordic intraday market.
Uniper will combine flexibility utilization, position closing and market making obligations in custom strategies to work together and create fast-automated decisions with Powel Algo Trader.
“We are happy that Uniper decided for Powel Algo Trader”, says Stefan Zähringer, VP sales and general manager at Powel AG. “Uniper will start to use the Software as a Service (SaaS) in November 2019. We are also proud that Uniper is growing our Algo Trader customer base; Powel has now Algotrader customers in eight European countries.”
Important to differentiate from competitors
“In a very dynamic and competitive intraday market, building our own strategies are important to differentiate from competitors. Powel Algo Trader is also an excellent solution to monetize the flexibility of our assets and contribute to security of supply in Nordic markets.” says Jean Baptiste de Gabory, head of power short-term trading at Uniper.
“Powel Algo Trader allows us to develop the Strategies in Python with dedicated framework for fast strategy building. The standard APIs to connect Algo Trader to Powel’s optimization software are another key element why we decided for Powel”, says Sebastian Wallner, head of dispatch solutions at Uniper IT.
