Power plants must ensure that they have sufficient reserves to comply with the regulations for transmission system operators (TSOs). Part of this market is the mFRR bid system, where trading often takes place within the intraday process. Unlike the other ancillary system services, the user does not get the contract back in the bidding module. Instead, the user receives it through Activation Request, which is closely integrated with the bidding module Powel Ancitra.
It is usually the people in the energy companies’ operations centres who use Activation Request. Once the order has been accepted, the time series information is sent back to the SCADA system.
“This is the tool of the future with great international potential,” says the product manager at Powel, Birger Morland.
About to enter the Swiss market
Activation Request supports the regulations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Powel is also about to enter the Swiss market.
