The solution enables the delivery of infrastructure documentation directly from the construction site. Thus, the application replaces the use of paper and tedious transfers between multiple data systems.
“With Network Collector, those who are most familiar with the low voltage network can register it through a few clicks on their smartphones,” say Eirin Bye, Product Manager at Powel.
More efficient work
The solution has been developed together with field workers and has been created for this vocational group, which comprises power supply installers, contractors and excavators.
“The goal has been to create a simple and intuitive solution, which contains only relevant information, says Bye.
"There has also been considerable focus on changing the way in which installers work, so that documentation happens more quickly. When field workers can document their own work with a high level of accuracy, it provides an increased sense of security, responsibility and pride in their work.”
Better documentation quality
Network Collector has been developed to improve the quality of documentation for grid companies. The goal is to enable those who are really familiar with the grid to register work carried out at the installation site – through an easy process.
Powel believes that field applications will change the work processes of grid companies in the time ahead.
“We believe that the “Field Hero” strategy with applications like Network Collector will revolutionise the way grid companies work and Powel will be at the forefront of this development,” says Bye.
All you need is a smartphone
Network Collector needs nothing more than a smartphone. By connecting the solution to an external GNSS receiver, field workers can achieve land survey accuracy. The application supports documentation of the most common work tasks in the low voltage network relating to service lines, cabinets, masts and trenches. All members of your team will easily be able to see planned assignments on the map. Picture documentation of the work that has been carried out will connect employees more closely to what is happening out in the field.
Built with open API
Network Collector is built with an open API, which allows you to integrate the solution with the services you want through an open and secure cloud solution – whether this is NAS, GIS, ERP, WOM or open source code services. Our Network Collector services are branded “ANY-proof” – and this is our guarantee that you can always utilise and adapt your data to your own needs, as well as future requirements.

Powel has with Network Collector started resolving one part of a bigger picture, and intend to develop the application and portfolio to cover more areas
"We have a few early-phase customers who are part of developing Network Collector. We would like to have more on our team. They would be joining us in innovation work that will change the approach of the entire industry, concludes Bye.
