Skagerak Nett and Porsgrunn municipality won the Innovation Award at the Powel Days 2019.
The prize is awarded a customer that made a significant contribution in developing a new product, raised new ideas or implemented products for use in new areas. The Powel jury announced the awards to Porsgrunn municipality and Skagerak Nett during the Powel Days in Trondheim 14-15 May.
“Skagerak Nett and Porsgrunn municipality have both contributed to digitalization of essential parts of their business processes. We are very impressed over the improvements they have made, and look forward to further collaboration,” says Trond Straume, CEO of Powel.
Porsgrunn has been a front-runner of utilising opportunities with cloud technology to improve customer communication. They have an in-depth understanding of citizens’ needs and requirements in a modern society and has been an active co-creation partner driving innovation through collaboration.
“Our collaboration with Powel has been very useful and fun. They have been great at adapting their solutions to our needs. This award means a lot,” says Glenn Are Heidenstrøm, data engineer of Porsgrunn municipality.
Skagerak Nett received the award because they have improved the business processes for their field workers with Powel´s application “Heroes in the field”. The field workers themselves have been leading the transformation by defining their need for software applications. Their goal is to become 30 percent more efficient through automation, mobility and an offensive mindset.
“Innovation is key factor for Skagerak. The most important for all our employees, is to think different and challenge established ways of working. The Innovation award means a lot for us, because it works as an evidence that we are on the right track. The collaboration with Powel has been rewarding. With interdisciplinary groups we have developed new solutions for making the industry more efficient,” says Øivind Askvik, Executive Vice President of Skagerak Nett.
The winter is soon behind us and the smell of summer is in our hearts. It’s time for Powel Days 2020. We look forward to welcoming our Norwegian and international customers to beautiful Trondheim 3-4 June.
