Field Observation has a very similar user interface to Field Inspector. The most significant difference between the tools is that Field Observation is used to register discrepancies that the utility workers discover, i.e. things that have not been planned, while Field Inspector is used for planned work on the power grid.
“Using Field Observation, utility field workers can easily register discrepancies out in the field. It is also a great advantage that documentation is automatically stored in one system, namely NETBAS Maintenance,” says Kaspar Bordal, product owner at Powel.
Utility field workers use a tablet or smartphone for the actual registration.
The solution is web-based with a simple and intuitive user interface. The application works equally well offline as online.
"Field Inspector and Field Observation are delivered together and are currently used by several grid companies in Norway. “The field solution is also popular in Sweden and is growing in Denmark,” says Bordal.
Powel’s goal is that all NETBAS Maintenance customers eventually will use the field solutions in their daily work.
