Grid Development is a module within NETBAS which many grid companies use in the planning process to make necessary changes to the grid. This could be anything from setting up, planning and designing a project to ordering materials, implementation and final documentation. Everything is done in the Grid Development solution, which also allows external contractors to work directly in the tool to get their share of the task done.
“This is a very complex process in which many roles have to work together. The strength of our solution is that the system supports the user throughout the process. This makes the work easier and the job can be done more efficiently than before. Users also have an overview of everything that happens, as everything is held in one place,” says the product manager for NETBAS at Powel, Kjetil Kvamme.
The Grid Development module has a technical focus, which supports the people planning improvements to the network. Powel is now working on an integration between Powel Utility Flow and Powel NETBAS.
“When we get the two tools connected together, planners in the office will be able to communicate seamlessly with the installers in the field. This will be a big boost for the grid companies,” says Kvamme.
