It is also an important tool for planning projects both large and small. The analyses can be used for both long-term and operational planning.
“With effective analyses, the grid companies can arrive at the best solution to the problem in the planning phase. This is a well proven and more efficient and economical way of working than trial and error out later in the project,” says the product manager for NETBAS at Powel, Kjetil Kvamme.
Finding solutions to future challenges
The module contains load flow and short-circuit calculations, marginal loss analyses, reliability analyses and more. It is also possible to run load flow analyses on hourly values for production and consumption meters. NETBAS Analysis is closely integrated with the Grid Development module in NETBAS and the operational support solution Powel ADMS.
“It is possible to simulate what will happen to the supply grid if 10,000 more people move into a residential area. This enables the grid company to plan well ahead if they need to build a new power station,” says Kvamme.
