Grid companies collaborate with external installers and contractors regarding maintenance and upgrading of the power grid. Elsmart is a market-leading case-handling solution, which streamlines interaction between players.
Elsmart has over 20,000 users and is currently the leading solution for Nordic grid companies.
Elsmart has significantly simplified the working day of grid companies.
“The system has made it possible to use external installers to resolve many critical work tasks and also ensure good documentation and quality control afterwards,” says Thøger Amundsen, product owner at Powel.
Developed in close dialogue with users
The Elsmart solution was “born” at Agder Energy in 1999 and was a basic digitalised version of a manual paper form. Installers have a statutory obligation to notify grid companies regarding any changes to the grid and Elsmart was created to streamline this work process. Since 2010, Powel has owned and developed Elsmart with many new and smart modules.
Even though Powel currently owns and is actively developing the system, our work is always conducted in close dialogue with users.
“All the major grid companies in Norway and many in the Nordic region use the solution, which has been a success from the very start,” says Amundsen.
Documents work out in the field
Elsmart is an SaaS (Software as a Service) solution, which makes the solution easier to operate and maintain. Users can also access all relevant information out in the field as user-friendly apps have been developed with good map and reporting functionality. Thus, an installer can, for example, accurately document the position of an installation directly on the map and also take pictures of the work performed.
