Another big investment for Powel Environment is Powel Private Infrastructure. The software solution helps municipalities and water companies to monitor private systems that are connected to public water and wastewater networks, or for which they have a statutory role.
“The municipalities need control over who is connected to the water and wastewater network, what type of equipment is connected and where in the network it is connected. Private Infrastructure simplifies the work of documentation and follow up,” says Ståle Johannessen, product manager for Private Infrastructure at Powel.
Norwegian municipalities provide for the safe delivery of our most vital resource – drinking water. This is no easy matter with scarce resources for operation, maintenance and renewal of the distribution network in an infrastructure which is ageing and worn out.
Digitalisation of the water industry
“Digitalisation of the water industry is the most cost-effective weapon against leaks, water loss and poor water quality,” says the product responsible for Water Alert, Eirik Aartun.
Water Alert provides municipalities with a good overview of the water supply using intuitive maps which are updated in real time. If the flow of water rises to abnormally high levels, the software solution sends an alarm to the municipality.
Powel is committed to more and more real-time monitoring of the water and wastewater system, and Water Alert is one of many products with great international potential. Many countries in Europe and outside have started using water meters to monitor the water supply, so everything is in place to make even better use of data with Water Alert.
“There are significant interest around the world for Water Alert, so it clearly has great international potential,” concludes Eirik Aartun from Powel.
