Powel NetBas Software Suite

Powel NetBas is an integrated Network Information System (NIS) and Geographical Information System (GIS), and an integral part of Powel’s Smart Grid Information Solution. All data pertaining to the grid and other assets, such as electrical parameters, costs, location, geographic quality are stored in a common Oracle database. Information is presented and made available to users through a variety of interfaces including maps, single line diagrams, and property displays. Data is also made available to other software applications within Powel’s utility suite or third party application that shares the same graphical user interface. With interfaces to ERP, CIS and SCADA systems, Powel NetBas serves as the hub for the entire utility network information flow.

Key features:

  • Asset Repository for the utility. Adapts to new changes in assets types as they are implemented.
  • High performance connectivity and GIS model. A critical aspect of effective asset documentation.
  • Viewing all graphic formats in one system. One user interface that shows assets in the map, in query results and single line diagram format.
  • Map types and GIS data presentations. All asset can be presented in a map view combined with external map sources (landbase)
  • Geographic queries and analyses. A wide range of analyzes that combines spatial, electrical calculation, connectivity and asset data information.
  • Planning - Editing different workspaces of the asset database. Provides the functionality to work on versions whenever changes are made to asset data, for what ever reason: data clean up, corrections, planning or commissioning new networks.
  • Data Quality. Using a single source of data entry, automating the process of form filling and data population within the system. This ensures that data is 100 % before passing to others stakeholders like DMS, Maintenance, and ERP.
  • Security. Provides full control over what users can see, access, edit, and control. This can be applied as a default setting or down to each attribute on a single object. This provides the opportunity to allow external user to have access privileges limited to what they need to view and access.
