Powel MDMS is a stand-alone application for meter data management that includes the features and functions utilities need for every link in the meter-to-billing value chain, as well as settlement and forecasting. The software consists of a repository of meter data from the data collection system. It can receive data in many forms, from many sources, including electricity, water, gas, and district heating. It validates and edits the data before it is stored and applied for analysis, calculations, and reports — and then sends it to a billing system or other third-party systems or market participants.
All meter values that are deemed suspect, missing, or in error are corrected by further processing through a suite of customized rules. Version control and event logs make it possible to store and track all original and corrected values. Powel MDMS is specifically designed to handle large-scale deployment of smart-metering infrastructure. It provides extensive support for automatic processing of meter values, which is essential for managing large amounts of data efficiently. The software can automatically generate time series based on new records in files from meter reading systems. It automatically imports, validates, and estimates missing values and includes features for balance settlement.
The meter-device asset manager keeps track of all device information. Plus it is able to create work orders as part of a meter roll-out process.
